We won’t find out who is headlining Lollapalooza 2013 for a few more months, but the first rumors hit the Internet this weekend—on Twitter, of course. Local music blog The Sights and Sounds captured the action, including a screenshot of an alleged lineup. You can view the screenshot here, but let's just highlight the basics: The Cure, Jay-Z, and Mumford & Sons headline, followed by Blur, Skrillex, The Flaming Lips, Vampire Weekend, How to Destroy Angels, and more.

We’ve reached out to Lollapalooza and are waiting to hear back. For what it’s worth, none of the bands seem to be committed to any other concerts for the first weekend in August. (If you’re wondering about the cut-off names, we think that they are Foxygen, Strfkr, Steve Aoki, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and !!!)

There was a lot of buzz in our office with the news. Here are just a few of the immediate reactions:

“Stuff Middle-Age White People Like: Jay-Z’s Black Album; the Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry”; Blur’s Woohoo Song; and talking about their kids talking about Skrillex.”
—Cassie Walker, executive editor

“The Cure?! That alone will be worth the ticket price.”
—Selena Fragassi, contributing music critic

“OMG JAY-ZZZZ.”
—Elly Fishman, assistant editor

“Lolla, you are killing my vibe with Mumford & Sons, but throw me some Kendrick any day.”
—Trupti Rami, editorial intern

“Blur is a surprise! Didn’t think the Gorillaz frontman (Damon Albarn) would revive his old group for a festival headliner.”
Scott Standley, contributing music critic

When did Lolla become a folk/roots fest?”
Kevin McKeough, contributing music critic
