If you went to Pitchfork Fest a few weeks ago and weren’t geeked to see both St. Vincent and FKA Twigs, you probably made it through without missing any of your favorite bands. At Lollapalooza, that won’t be so easy. With more than 130 bands scattered across eight stages in mile-long Grant Park, there’s bound to be some overlap—and that doesn’t even account for time spent traversing the 100,000-person crowd.

Should you watch Iggy Azalea or Interpol? Childish Gambino or Sebastian Ingrosso? Chance the Rapper or Skrillex? (Kidding.) And as for the geography of it all: Will you have time to sprint across Grant Park to catch the tail-end of Spoon after Foster the People? (Trick question: You should be at Vic Mensa).

To help manage the weekend’s glut of live music, five Chicago mag staffers mapped out which sets they’ll be parked at this year. And to give you a sense of who your hosts are, each one has a quick bio saying what neighborhood they call home—and what musician, living or dead, they'd most like to have a beer with.
