The hip garden store Sprout Home is offering flower-arranging classes. Tuesday, August 10th at 6pm, is the first: Basic Arrangement. Several styles will be demonstrated and there will be discussion about how to pick the appropriate flowers for various situations. Future classes will veer into non-traditional arrangements and holiday decorating. Class fees depend on the size of the arrangement you wish to make (simply watching the demonstration for free is also an option, if space permits); students will bring their arrangements home. Call the store to pre-register—there are still a few spots open for Tuesday’s class. For future dates and topics, check the store’s website. And be sure to read our interview with Sprout owner Tara Heibel. Shown above, a ceramic gun vase, $60, available at Sprout. That would be traditional arrangement meets not-so-traditional vase.
