The other night associate art director Adam Moroschan and I dropped by Pavilion, one of the best-curated home boutiques in town, where owners Deborah Colman and Neil Strauss threw a little party to celebrate the expansion of their offerings by international artists. We were particularly taken by The Haiku Drawings, collages by artist Katherine Kavanaugh, an artist and faculty member at the Maryland Institute College of Art. From a series called “The Privacy of Water,” they are printed with archival ink on rice paper and mounted on Okawara Japanese paper, part of a limited series (framed, 21” x 16”). The architectural lights by Clemens Tissi can be moved and adjusted to create different dramatic effects. See a video demonstrating them here.
