While at the Mart for NeoCon, I stopped in to see what was new at the Kohler Store. The company had introduced its new collections at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, but the pieces were only installed recently to wow the crowds at NeoCon. Needless to say, Mick De Giulio’s new sinks for Kohler’s Kallista brand are knockouts in both the beauty and functionality departments. The most impressive model is the Multiere (shown above), a 45-inch single-basin multi-tiered stainless steel kitchen sink that comes with a draining/cutting board with a knife sharpener, a colander holder, and a flatware-rinsing tray. This man thinks of everything (to learn more, read our editor Jan Parr’s interview with him in our November/December 2010 issue). Funny anecdote: apparently, Rachel Kohler, a president at Kohler really wanted a De Giulio sink in her home, but she knew her dad (the company chairman) wouldn’t be too pleased, so she had no choice but to get De Giulio to create a sink for Kallista. Now, everyone is happy!
