Anthropologie has more of a claim in my closet than in my living room, but that may soon change. Home accessories and furniture from the bohemian women’s apparel retailer sometimes find their way onto our pages (see here and here, for example), and if you like what you’ve seen of the girly-but-rustic interior offerings, you’ll love this: On March 24, Anthropologie will debut “workshop-style decorator shops” at several existing locations in the U.S., including Chicago’s State Street store (108 N. State St. 312-899-0969). Curtains, furniture, lighting, rugs, wallpaper swatches, and hardware (such as these charming knobs) designed both in-house and sourced from around the world will all be in one place. Design books and magazines will be around for inspiration, and once the workshop opens, look out for a regular series of seminars from design experts. Can’t wait until the 24th? A new “For the Decorator” section featuring decorating tips, a wallpaper calculator, and fabric samples debuts on March 17th at Anthropologie.com.
