This weekend offers plenty of design events and sales.

It’s been 10 years since Lillstreet Art Center moved to its current Ravenswood location (4401 N. Ravenswood Ave.). So there’s going to be a party. Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m., swing by the open house and take part in one of the free workshops (screenprint your own tote bag or throw a pot on a potter’s wheel). The full line-up is available here. You can also show up a little later for the block party, which runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Expect live entertainment, refreshments, and interactive art projects, including the chance to help paint a community mural.

Prefer to buy a beautifully handcrafted item than make your own? Keep heading north for the American Craft Exposition, which returns to Evanston this weekend. The 160 artists who are participating will be featuring baskets, ceramics, furniture (such as this table from Robert Erickson), and more. The show opens at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $15 at the door ($13 if you get it in advance online). And it all happens at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion on Northwestern University’s campus (2311 Campus Dr.).

BoConcept (1901 N. Clybourn Ave.), the Danish furniture store, is holding a huge sale. Through August 29, you’ll be able to buy sofas at up to 30 percent off, bedroom furniture and dining tables at 20 percent off, and floor samples at up to 40 percent off.

Randolph Street Market (1340 W. Washington St.) is back. This Saturday and Sunday, browse 200 vendors selling collectibles, furniture, food, global goods, and so much more. Pay $10 at the gate; $8 in advance online.
