When Chicago couple Meghan Leese and Michael Lukomski grew tired of all the mass-produced, low-quality home furnishings and accessories out there, they decided to take matters into their own hands. Allow us to introduce you to the result: SOLO Home Design.

SOLO is all about unique pieces that incorporate new, reclaimed, repurposed, and re-used wood, metals, and textiles (think gears, rebar, bicycle inner tubes… that sort of thing). And while Leese and Lukomski are the driving force behind SOLO, it really is a family affair. In addition to Leese’s background in fashion design and advertising and Lukomski’s engineering expertise, Leese’s stepfather is a master wood craftsman and her brother is a metal fabricator.

The items are for sale on the website, but also keep an eye out for them at this summer’s Guerilla Truck Show.
