There's a new home décor store in Evanston called Dragonfly (1309 Chicago Ave.) and it’s worth a visit.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because owner Amy Boone had an Asian antique shop in Chicago under the same moniker until eight years ago. Since that location closed, she’s been selling items at the Harris Trail Antique Mall and doing trunk shows out of her home. This year she decided to revive the Dragonfly name, but do things a little differently.

There are still some Asian antiques, but mixed in are a lot of other things: vintage and brand new furniture, accessories, clothing, industrial finds, and jewelry. The inventory is constantly changing, but this week she has Moroccan lighting, Chinese window panels, chrome étagères from the 1970s, and a bunch of new clocks from Newgate.

While you're in the neighborhood, check out Paramour Bungalow, which opened in Evanston in early summer.
