The 69th Annual 57th Street Art Fair ( is back this Saturday and Sunday in Hyde Park. Stop by for pop-up talks by select artists, live demonstrations, food trucks, and live music. Shop from over 200 artists selling handmade, original works including furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, photography, printmaking, painting, sculpture, wood, ceramics, and fiber art. Make sure to check out furniture and sculpture artist Aaron Laux, lamps by Paul Klein, and wood artist Marc Lamm.

Starting this month, Walter E. Smithe (2009 N. Clybourn Ave., will showcase a new line of furniture by fashion designer Cynthia Rowley for Hooker Furniture. Her signature bold prints can fit with modern, classic, and feminine styles. Pieces will be available at all 11 Chicago area Walter E. Smithe showrooms and on the website.

This Friday stop by Pagoda Red (400 N. Morgan St., to see artwork by Japan-based artist, Toyoharu Kii, known for his intricate mosaic designs. The cocktail opening will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. and Kii works with hand-cut Italian marble, smalti, and Venetian glass to create intricate texture and abstract patterns.
