Hip hand-felted birdhouses are highly functional shelters for our feathered friends (who may pluck fibers from inside to include in their nests) and jolly objets d’art for us. They’re made, using naturally dyed wool, by a women’s micro-cooperative in South Africa, and while they’re good outdoors in any season, we might hang a few inside, too, with air plants or sweet faux birdies in them. $49 (five-inch diameter), $58 (seven-inch diameter), at Sprout Home, 745 N. Damen Ave., 312-226-5950, sprouthome.com
