Lauren Lozano Ziol chair made of Baltic birch plywood and solid oak and veneered in Macassar ebony

Interior designer Lauren Lozano Ziol’s love of Art Deco moved her to bust out her own interpretations of the work of moderne masters such as Jean-Michel Frank and Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann. Andrew Kephart built the prototypes, which you can see at Mecox Gardens. The chair above ($6,850) is made of Baltic birch plywood and solid oak and veneered in Macassar ebony; customers supply their own fabric. Ziol also designed a set of steel accent tables with antiqued-mirror tops ($1,033 each). Mecox Gardens, 406 N.
