Four years ago, Levin was just another commercial real-estate broker taking a hit in the economic downturn. That’s when he embarked on a new venture: electric vehicle charging stations. With the increased production of electric vehicles on the horizon, Levin saw an opportunity to use his real-estate experience by partnering with the California-based company Coulomb Technologies to develop Chicago’s first plug-in depots. Today, Carbon Day Automotive is the largest distributor of such stations in the Midwest, with 700 in the region and 250 of those in Chicago alone.
