Calling it regal might be a slight overstatement, but the location of the new Royal Corner condominiums in Highwood is first-rate: On a quiet block-long street adjacent to the Fort Sheridan army reserve installation, the building is just a block from the town’s well-known restaurant strip and a ten-minute walk to Lake Michigan. "When I saw this site, I knew we had to do something very good with it," says Lana Lapan, one of three partners who have developed the three-story building on the former site of a dingy motel.

Highwood: From $299,900 to $459,900

Condos in the 12-unit building, which is being represented by Highwood’s Milestone Realty, have large rooms, ample crown moldings, wood windows, ten-foot-high ceilings, and extra-thick insulation for heat retention and noise reduction. Each unit has a balcony, and a few upper-floor units have views across the base to the lake. Condos range from a 1,318-square-foot one-bedroom unit (the only one-bedroom unit in the building) for $299,900 to a 1,587-square-foot two-bedroom for $459,900. Buyers may move in 30 to 60 days after purchase.
