Breakfast and lunch are two of our favorite meals of the day. So we’re pleased that Omar and Christian Solis have opened Nana in a spiffy Bridgeport storefront, serving both (rolled together into brunch on weekends) every day. The brothers source ingredients for all-organic Nana as carefully as buyers for the most expensive places in town, though their menu is far from uppity. Breakfasts run from gluten-free corn-oat waffles ($8) to brioche French toast stuffed with lemony mascarpone cheese ($10) and a bold spin on eggs Benedict, the Nanadict—thick corn flatbread topped with chorizo, poached eggs, and poblano sauce, with excellent home fries ($10). Feeling lunchy? We loved our chopped salad with applewood-smoked bacon, red onion, tomatoes, dried cherries, and toasted walnuts ($9). Sandwiches such as the Magic Mushroom Burger with roasted garlic aïoli and home fries ($11) and a roasted turkey panino with a side ($8) also hit their marks. Abundant vegetarian options may include chili, no-beef burgers, panini, and most breakfast items. 3267 S. Halsted St.; 312-929-2486.
