With so many doctors to choose from in metropolitan Chicago, where should you turn in times of medical crisis? The list, prepared for Chicago by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., is a good place to start. Arranged in 56 commonly consulted specialties, the list provides information about 355 local doctors, including their areas of special interest and hospital affiliation. And while some of these doctors may be too busy to take on new patients, they usually have partners who can assist you, or they might recommend a doctor at another practice. Chicago and the suburbs are home to many fine physicians, some of whom may not appear on our list. But when your next crisis hits, it's reassuring to know that the doctors listed here have won the confidence of their fellow MDs.
