There are lots of things circa 2005 worth pining for—open seats at Lula, Hopleaf’s chalkboard beer list—but at least we can strike the last days of Tiny Lounge from that list.
The circular booths that defined the spot’s former location—a casualty of the expanded Addison Brown Line stop—have made a comeback in this roomier, if more minimal, Lincoln Square space, and the renowned standouts (drinks and bartenders) remain delightfully unchanged. Perusing the 90-strong beer list and the famed martini menu is like running into an old friend—with the added bonus of craft cocktails for an affordable $8. We like the caipirinha, which resembles a sippable snow cone.
But the most important holdover, says the owner, Colleen Flaherty, “is who we are: the people and the service.” Expect to have your hand shaken and your name remembered.
