ZipRealty, the California-based real-estate agency, already has a number of useful online features to assist both homebuyers and sellers. Now it has begun posting quarterly lists of hot neighborhoods in various cities around the country. ZipRealty determines "hotness" by calculating the percentage of the asking prices that sellers in a neighborhood actually received—which these days is largely a measure of how smart the sellers were about pricing the property in the first place. ZipRealty then pairs that information with a survey of buyers and sellers in the pertinent neighborhood. The next list is due out in mid-November; you can find it at ziprealty.com/pdf/2008_3Q_HousingReport.pdf.
