Dr. Jeffrey Baker, DPM
Dr. Jeffrey Baker, DPM, is a Partner Physician at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute and a renowned specialist in sports medicine and foot and ankle trauma. In his practice, he continually strives to apply the latest advances in medical practice and technology to treat foot problems, including the Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction™ Procedure that represents an important option for the millions of people who develop bunions each year. The Lapiplasty® Procedure addresses all three dimensions of a bunion deformity and uses patented titanium plates to permanently secure the bunion’s root cause; an unstable joint in the middle of the foot.
In his education including degrees from Northeastern University and Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, and in his work with runners and other athletes, Dr. Baker has continually focused on using important advances in medical science and technology to address critical needs in foot health. Treatment of bunions is a great example. Dr Baker relates, “Specifically with athletes, my worry is the need to open up the big toe joint at the knuckle, which creates more scar tissue. The Lapiplasty® Procedure only requires, in certain patients, a small incision around that joint. In my experience, athletes who I perform the Lapiplasty® Procedure on have excellent range of motion as compared to patients that have a traditional 2D bunion procedure performed.”
