Fox Valley Orthopedics
Pivoting to the new normal, Fox Valley Orthopedics (FVO) continues to meet the needs of the community by adding new services and streamlining orthopedic care. Recently, new surgeons have joined the practice, telehealth services have been added, OrthoFirst urgent care is expanding, and FVO Physical Therapy is coming to all seven of FVO’s locations.
FVO has 18 physicians ranging in such sub-specialties as joint replacement, sports medicine, hand/wrist, foot/ankle, spine, pain management and rheumatology. Rheumatologist Raheem Nazeer, M.D., and hand and wrist Surgeon Shobhit Minhas, M.D., have recently joined the practice, and are now accepting new patients.
FVO sees 115,000 patients annually, and performs nearly 13,000 procedures ranging from minor surgeries to total joint replacements. Arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques are often used, in addition to leading-edge treatments like regenerative medicine and stem-cell therapies.
For patients who need surgery, FVO’s Ambulatory Surgery Center is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art center that offers convenient, outpatient care that is less expensive than a hospital. The entire surgical team--physicians, registered nurses, technicians and anesthesiologists, are orthopedic specialists and offer the highest quality of care for optimal recovery.
FVO has also made a deeper commitment to injured workers through a new concierge service. Appointments for independent medical examinations, specialist coordination, and billing inquiries are now handled by a team of specialists ready to manage services.
OrthoFirst Orthopedic Urgent Care is expanding in the Elgin area. Adults and adolescents can immediately see a specialist to begin treatment for such acute injuries as fractures, broken bones, muscle/joint pain, sprains, and dislocations.
o broaden FVO’s continuum of care, physical therapy is now available in Geneva and in all FVO locations by year-end. Whether a patient is recovering from a fracture, surgery or joint pain, FVO’s outpatient rehabilitation team will develop a comprehensive treatment plan to help build muscles, improve range of motion and restore function.
