If it’s fall—gallery season—in Chicago, Tony Karman, 57, is the busiest guy in town. For five-plus years, the West Town resident has served as president and director of Expo Chicago, the behemoth art show at Navy Pier featuring works from the world’s hottest galleries. Ahead of this year’s event (September 22 to 25), he shares his favorite finds.

I describe my personal style as

Eclectic, clean, and a little bit adventurous, with a twist on traditional.

Stores I spend the most time at

Neiman Marcus, Saks, and Barneys.

Health secret

I drink a daily shake. It’s three powders—Ultimate Meal, Green Vibrance, and raw vanilla protein—with apple juice, coconut water, and psyllium husk.

At home I surround myself with

Contemporary art, an extraordinary wife, two cats, organic food, and lots of wine.

Local haunts

The Matchbox for a neighborhood bar and the Hideout and Green Mill for music.

Hidden Chicago gem

On a quiet night, I love driving out to the turnaround at Montrose Harbor.

What I’m listening to

I’m a sucker for KCRW out of L.A.—I’ve been streaming it my entire life. Past that, Kurt Elling’s new album with Branford Marsalis.

What I’m reading

The stack of New Yorkers growing in my house.
