You’re probably thinking, oh, another timelapse video, but this one’s pretty great, in part because it’s beautifully shot. In particular, I liked the overhead shots of LSD and of the city west from what’s almost certainly the Willis Tower (note the Presidential Towers to the northwest and the 90/94-290 interchange to the southwest). The view from downtown west is underrated. (Via Coudal.)

It’s one of the few videos I’ve seen that makes the city’s sodium-vapor lights look glamorous. Speaking of which, astronaut Ron Garan sent us pictures from space:

What I love about this picture is that, as Garan notes, you can see the flashes of lightning in the storm moving in from the west in the upper left-hand corner.
