Roberta Buffett Elliot donated the largest single gift to Northwestern University this morning, totaling more than $100 million to her alma mater, according to the Chicago Tribune. The sum will create the Roberta Buffett Institute for Global Studies, which will offer travel grants and scholarships—among other uses—to students at the Evanston–based university.
Now, $100 million is a grand sum of money. And if somehow you had personally inherited the same donation from Warren Buffett’s sister, there would be an infinite number of ways to spend it. We came up with 12. It can’t hurt to dream a little, can it?
