Golfer Jim Furyk shot a historic 59 in competition today, becoming the sixth player in PGA Tour history to do so.

Jim Furyk traveled to Chicago for the weekend and decided to shoot the round of his life—a PGA Tour record 59.

The 7,149-yard, par-71 Conway Farms Golf Club was by no means playing easy on Friday, as big names like Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, and Phil Mickelson all shot over-par. But Furyk torched the course anyway with 11 birdies and one eagle.

His remarkable round began early. Playing the back-nine first, Furyk opened with birdies on his first three holes. He added another birdie on No. 14, an eagle on No. 15, and two more birdies on No. 17 and No. 18.
