There was heartbreaking news last night: Homaro Cantu, the 38-year-old chef and culinary wizard behind Moto and Berrista, was found dead in an apparent suicide. Today, dining editor Penny Pollack wrote a remembrance of her first meal at Moto in 2004, and we also reposted a January 2005 story spotlighting Cantu as one of the city’s game-changing “techno-chefs.”
