Leadbelly (5739 W. Irving Park Rd., Portage Park, 773-283-7880; 5691 N. Milwaukee Ave., Gladstone Park, 773-775-6650) is wandering into uncharted food mash-up territory with their special Cheesecake Beignet—that’s a piece of Eli’s Cheesecake wrapped in the made-from-scratch dough used to make the spot’s burger buns, which gets deep-fried and topped with powdered sugar. Half the proceeds from the $4.95 dish (there are two treats to an order) will go to the Sunshine Activity Center, a non-profit organization benefiting developmentally disabled adults.

Drink up at the one-year anniversary party for Coppervine (1962 N. Halsted St., Lincoln Park, 773-935-1000), which will feature brews from Bell’s, cocktails by CH and Koval distilleries, and wines from Heritage Wine Cellars and Winebow, plus some passed hors d’oeuvres to sop all that good stuff up. Buy $25 tickets here.

Thursday, December 4

Say cheers to another year of legal alcohol at a Repeal Day party at Bordel (1721 W. Division St., Wicker Park, 773-227-8600). The speakeasy-inspired bar will have live jazz, burlesque, and a death march for the 18th Amendment at midnight—as well as a Champagne tower and $5 specialty cocktails. The free celebration starts at 8 p.m.

If you’ve been inside Beermiscuous (2812 N. Lincoln Ave, Lake View, 855-450-2337), you’ve probably noticed their mural-sized map of Chicago breweries. If you’d like a poster- or T-shirt-sized version for yourself, stop by a launch party for the map, which will feature free tastings from local beermakers Atlas and Horse Thief Hollow, as well as a 10 percent discount on the price of the goods. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go to Free Spirit Media. Swing by the fest starting at 7 p.m.

Friday, December 5

Do good and eat well at the annual fundraiser for Pilot Light, an organization which helps kids make better choices about food. Their event will feature demonstrations and bites from chefs such as Paul Kahan, Matthias Merges, Giuseppe Tentori, and more, as well as drinks from the crews of Billy Sunday and the Violet Hour. The general admission price is $125, but those under 27 can get discounted tickets for $75. Buy them here.
