Sing and drink your way into the holiday spirit at Tack Room (1227 W. 18th St., Pilsen, 312-526-3851). For the next three Thursdays, they’ll be slinging seasonal drinks crafted by bartenders from across the city as the bar’s in-house piano player performs Yuletide hits. The egg nog starts pouring at 10 p.m.

Construct the coolest gingerbread house at Freestyle Food + Drink (660 N. State St., River North, 312-943-0333) during their Gingerbrunch. The $40 promotional package, available every Sunday in December, includes a basic gingerbread house, all sorts of trimmings, and a mimosa flight for two. Call the restaurant to make a reservation.
Your Chipotle (multiple area locations, see chipotle.com) habit can do some good this season. Half the proceeds from purchases at any Chicago-area restaurant today will go to Toys for Tots, the organization that helps to provide holiday gifts to children in need. You have to mention the group to make sure your burrito cost gets channeled to Toys for Tots, though.
