Recession-era prices without having to actually live through the 2009 recession again: Henry’s Swing Club (18 W. Hubbard, River North, 312-955-8018) will be celebrating DMK’s fifth birthday with super-slashed prices for one day only. All food and drink (except shots and bottles of Jack Daniel’s) will be $2.09 from 5 p.m. to close.

Do you crave doner kebab and currywurst like nobody’s business? The Radler (2375 N. Milwaukee Ave., Logan Square, 312-276-0270) has added Street Food Tuesdays to its weekly event rotation to showcase some of Germany’s finest grab-and-go fare along with discounted beers. The event runs from 4:30 to 10 p.m. every week.

Pastoral’s Artisan Producer Festival makes its return to the Chicago French Market (131 N. Clinton St., West Loop) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can peruse the comestible wares of food and drink makers from all over the world, plus see demonstrations from Black Dog Gelato, Indulgence Chocolatiers, and more. The fest is free to attend.

Sunday, April 26

The big pig-out is upon us. Cochon 555, the annual competition in which five high-profile chefs are each given the task of prepping up to six courses using what they can from their own individual heritage hog, takes place Sunday at Morgan Manufacturing (401 N. Morgan St., West Loop). The battling chefs include John Manion of La Sirena Clandestina, Chris Marchino of Spiaggia, and more, and there’s a whole slate of other events to seek out through the weekend.
