Scofflaw (3201 W. Armitage Ave., Logan Square, 773-252-9700) is taking on Tiki for the next installment of their regular Fan Fiction cocktail series, in which the cocktail mecca’s menu has a single-minded focus for one night only. Tonight, you can sip Mai Tais and Planter’s Punch in front of its fireplace, the next best thing to tropical sunlight.

Eating and reading go hand in hand at a fixed-price dinner in celebration of the new wine-centric novel Vintage Attraction at Taxim (1558 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wicker Park, 773-252-1558). The three-course dinner and meet-and-greet with author Charles Blackstone for $65 is inspired by the novel’s scenes in the Greek Isles.
