Barbecue tacos in a Wild West-looking tavern, plus some cocktails and specialty food shopping—that’s what’s on tap at the General (2528 N. California Ave., Logan Square, 773-698-8754), named for neighborhood namesake General John A. Logan.

The fresh seafood at Wixter Market (2110 W. Division St., Wicker Park, 312-248-2800) gets super-frozen ASAP after it’s caught, but they’ve also got plenty of canned sardines, mussels, and other oceanic creatures if you’re too hungry to wait for your fish to thaw.

Starting this weekend, the Green City Market is adding another outpost to its farmers-market empire: On the second Sunday of each month from now through October, they'll be operational at a third site in a lot behind Soho House (113–125 N. Green St., West Loop) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The other two markets are the original in Lincoln Park on Wednesdays and Saturdays and a satellite in the Fulton Market District on Saturdays.
