If the owners at Oceanique are looking to make the space more bright and modern, they should just model it after their colorful lobster sandwich.

At the north-suburban fine-dining restaurant Oceanique (505 Main St., Evanston, 847-864-3435), the silver anniversary marks the moment to polish the silver, metaphorically speaking. In its 25th year, the restaurant will get a makeover, extending its customary summer vacation by a few days.

“We’re trying to brighten up the space and be more contemporary and modern for younger people,” says chef/partner Mark Grosz. The renovation includes some new booth seating, lighting, and wall treatments, as well as a new bar with a bar menu of dishes such as a lobster roll with saffron-togarashi aïoli. Roasted oysters with spinach, Pernod, and Parmesan will be available singly or as part of the tasting menu.

Oceanique will close from June 30 to July 16 for the work. Vacation and a makeover sounds pretty nice—can we come along?
