Don’t be a sourpuss—Chicago Craft Beer Week continues through this week, and the event schedule keeps going strong. An option for tonight: A sour beer cookout at Publican Quality Meats (825 W. More beer! Roll through the Northwest Side on the neighborhood’s Craft Beer Ride, during which buses will be available to shuttle attendees between area bars and restaurants, each of which will host different suds options. Because even Pac-Man has a birthday, the video game-themed drinking complex Level 257 (2 Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, 847-805-0257) will be throwing a party in honor of 35 years of the little yellow guy, and the VIP admission for it includes some tasty perks: free gameplay, two drinks, cake from Toni Patisserie, and a meet-and-greet with one of the game’s creators and its world record holder. The party, which starts at 7 p.m., is $35 for the top-level tickets.

Saturday, May 23

Help crown the finest homebrewer in the city at the Bubbly Creek Barrel Brawl, a head-to-head competition at the Plant (1400 W. 46th St., New City). In it for the winner: A chance to have his or her concoction professionally produced by Motor Row Brewing. Buy $25 tickets here.

Spend part of Memorial Day weekend down on Slagel Family Farm for the first of this season’s farm dinners, a meal prepped by Erling Wu-Bower (Nico Osteria) and Brian Huston (Boltwood) using Slagel products. In addition to the food, the day includes a tour of the farmstead and a butchering demo.
