Every Thursday except holidays, I post a short tour of a home that is for sale, including the sellers’ asking price. But the asking price is only half of the story, as the past year’s market drop has clarified for all of us; the other half is the final selling price.

So, as Paul Harvey would say, now here’s the rest of the story on several properties I posted on Thursdays in 2008.

This list isn’t meant to be an exhaustive list of the ‘On the Market’ properties that have sold. It’s likely that some others have changed hands and that the public records haven’t yet been updated. But many of the properties I visited this year either are still waiting to sell or have been taken off the market until conditions improve.

As you can see, the sales of my ‘On the Market’ selections thinned out significantly in the late summer and fall months—echoing the severe slowdown in home sales as the nation’s financial crisis deepened.
