When it comes to jewelry, it doesn’t get much more classic than the dome ring. You can find the simple shape in materials ranging from platinum to art glass. And this pave-diamond 18-karat white-gold version, from David Yurman’s latest collection, is especially eye-catching.

While billed as a pinky ring, I think it looks even better on the ring finger: it’s big enough—and certainly blingy enough. (Sizes above 4 must be custom ordered.) And it’s flatter on top than the typical dome ring: A plus during a Chicago winter, given that it won’t protrude so much it will ruin your gloves.

The price? $11,500, thanks to 2.7 carats worth of diamonds. Not exactly an impulse purchase. But a fabulous choice for, say, a man shopping for an unforgettable 20th anniversary present.
