This Week’s Top Story

Glossier (glossier.com), the cult beauty brand, has opened a glossy new pop-up shop at 114 North Aberdeen Street. Like catnip to Millennials, the brand is best known for products like its Boy Brow ($16), a pomade-like substance that tames and fills brows; its multi-purpose skin salve, Balm Dotcom ($12); and the cheek color that’s so lightweight, its known as Cloud Paint ($18).

Typically, these goods can only be purchased online. But at the Chicago pop-up, which is open until October 28, shoppers can test them out — as the kids would say — IRL, in the most Instagram-worthy of settings.

In a former firehouse with an all-white backdrop, the space was built out to resemble an architectural museum. Sculptural floral arrangements peek out from glass-enclosed pedestals; oversize art pieces deck the walls; and photographs from local artist Deun Ivory represent the first of a series of collaborations with local artists.

The whole experience, of course, is being beautifully documented on Instagram and Instagram Stories. Take a peek here — but if you haven’t made it out yet, beware of FOMO.
