Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale (55 E. Grand Ave., nordstrom.com) billed as the retailer’s biggest shopping event of the year, starts on July 22. Here’s what’s different about this sale: Discounts apply to brand-new merchandise for a limited time. After the sale wraps on August 8, prices will rise again. This year, discounts will apply to goods from Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Marc Jacobs, Alice + Olivia, and more. This Burberry leather jacket (above) will go for $1,329.90 during the sale; after the sale, it will be $1,995.
Top Sales This Week
Versace (933 N. Rush St., us.versace.com) is offering discounts on its spring/summer merchandise. Items include a silk-blend jacket with a Medusa head buckle band (reduced from $2,525 to $1,262) and a blazer decked in a leopard-spotted camouflage print (reduced from $2,750 to $1,375).
Winifred Grace (5642 N. Clark St., winifredgrace.com), a jewelry and lifestyle boutique, will host a sample sale Friday to Sunday. Running exclusively in-store, the sale will offer select pieces of jewelry and clothing for up to 75 percent off. Looking for something more personalized? The store will hand-stamp some jewelry for $3 per letter.
Soul Cycle (3423 N. Southport Ave., soul-cycle.com) will host a rooftop sample sale on Sunday. The sale will feature discounted Soul Cycle gear, which includes tank tops and cropped pants. There will also be free juices and music from a live DJ.
Agent Provocateur (47 E. Oak St., agentprovocateur.com) is holding its “Last Chance” sale through Saturday night. Items are up to 75 percent off, and the sale is also running online. Goods include a lacy pink and black bra (reduced from $135 to $65) and a black and nude suspender (reduced from $190 to $45).

The Vintage Garage Sale (5051 N. Broadway, vintagegaragechicago.com) takes place on July 17 with a “Rockabilly” theme. With more than 100 vendors, the market will sling vintage clothing and accessories, as well as home décor; it also has a whole section devoted to tiki paraphernalia. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1950s-inspired gear.
