This Week’s Top Story

Marianne Strokirk Salon (1325 N. State Pkwy., mariannestrokirk.com) is consolidating its River North and Gold Coast locations into one salon. Now “soft” open in the Gold Coast, the space will officially open on July 21, and it will have some 40 stylist stations at the ready.

As always, the salon will offer facials and waxing along with haircuts, styling, and coloring (stylists are also skilled at corrective cuts and color). The new space will have expanded manicure and pedicure services, as well as a separate, glassed-in room for keratin treatments. And though several product lines will carry over from the previous locations—Redken and Oribe, for example, are still in heavy rotation—the salon will add botanical skincare line LINNÉ, Revitalash cosmetics, and others.

Strokirk wanted the new, 5,000-square-foot space to feel peaceful and calm. So, in addition to an abundance of natural light, it’s outfitted with periwinkle-blue floors; a living succulent wall and a juice bar are in the works.
