Top Sale this Week

Rested up from last week’s slew of art fairs? Good, because another big one happens this weekend. The Gold Coast Art Fair (amdurproductions.com) takes over Grant Park’s Butler Field (Lake Shore Dr. and Monroe St.) on Saturday and Sunday. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, the juried festival features glass, ceramics, photography, paintings, furniture, and more from some 300 artists. Pieces cost anywhere from $15 to $25,000, so expect some variety. There’s a $5 suggested donation at the entrance; more info is available here.

The Best of the Rest

  • Shopping for anything manly is in the air this week; right on cue, menswear store Paul Stuart (107 E. Oak St., paulstuart.com) is hosting a sale. Starting today and running through mid-July, the store will slash prices by 20 to 40 percent on select dress shirts, suits, knitwear, ties, neckwear, and sports jackets.
  • While you’re on Oak Street, you can also take advantage of the Oak Street Summer Shop-Around, taking place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today between Michigan Avenue and Rush Street. There are special offers and in-store happenings at the street’s ritzy boutiques, including Vince (free Champagne and 40 percent off sales items) and Escada (a free floral scarf with a $750 purchase—and a male model serving up free Champagne!). There will also be entertainment—including tarot card readings—on the street. Valet parking is available at 57 East Oak Street. Find more info here.
  • This is one of the last few days to check out the Weddington Way pop-up shop at Block37 (108 N. State St., blockthirtyseven.com). Closing June 20, the sleek showroom displays for-sale bridesmaid dresses in a high-tech way: brides can Skype in ’maids who are in other states, and dress options appear in a digital showroom where everyone can comment. On Friday and Saturday, the pop-up will also feature bridal gowns from Alfred Angelo. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
  • Speaking of pop-up shops, The Wit Hotel (201 N. State St., thewithotel.com) is currently hosting one for Dagne Dover, an accessories line with bags, card cases, and clutches. The shop is open the hotel’s first floor until June 24, and will showcase the brand’s new Mini Tote ($195 to $245) alongside other offerings. Store hours are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Wednesday.
