This Week’s Top Story

Eveningwear designer Carmen Marc Valvo will appear at Neiman Marcus (737 N. Michigan Ave., neimanmarcus.com) on March 10. The designer will greet shoppers in the store from 2 to 4 p.m. and will bring along some of his new spring gowns.

Top Sales This Week

Haberdash (607 N. State St., haberdashmen.com), the soon-to-shutter menswear boutique, is holding its “everything must go” sale. Available online and in store, the sale offers 50 percent to 70 percent off items such as classic straight jeans from 3Sixteen (now $179) and suede tassel loafers from Alden (now $299). But hurry: according to a rep, the store is open only on a “week-to-week” basis.

Scoop (1009 N. Rush St., scoopnyc.com) is offering an additional 60 percent off sale merchandise. Several racks are devoted to discounted goods, which include Chloe boots and Alaia dresses. There are also jeans, tops, and winter accessories on sale.

Men’s store George Greene (49 E. Oak St., george-greene.com) is offering 50 percent to 70 percent off its winter merchandise (displayed toward the back of the store) through the end of next week. The sale applies to items in a variety of categories, including sport coats, suits, coats, and shoes.

Eskandar (70 E. Walton St., eskandar.com) has select winter merchandise discounted by 65 percent. The sale applies to necklaces, scarves, and clothing, and will run at least through March.

Icebreaker (44 E. Walton St., icebreaker.com), which sells merino-wool base and outer layers as well as jackets, has taken 40 percent off select winter styles. The sale will run through April 25, but a staffer warns that sizes are selling out fast.

Women’s boutique Krista K (3458 N. Southport Ave., kristak.com) is holding a “spring style event” through March 31. The event offers savings of $100 for every $500 of new merchandise purchased, for savings of up to $300. The sale is available in store and online.

Closing

Alexis Bittar (61 E. Oak St., alexisbittar.com) has closed its Oak Street boutique. The Bucktown location of the jewelry store is still open at 1710 North Damen Avenue.

Trunk Show

Neiman Marcus (737 N. Michigan Ave., neimanmarcus.com) will showcase spring shoe styles from Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin during a trunk show next Tuesday through Sunday. The trunk shows will take place in the women’s shoe department on the retailer’s second floor.

The Left Bank (1155 W. Webster Ave., leftbankbridal.com) will host a bridal pop-up on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. The shop will showcase bridal accessories, and—for those looking for registry ideas—artisanal home goods from The Storied Table.
