Build-a-Prada

Prada’s Made to Order shoe program is coming to Chicago, and the sheer number of customizable options is enough to make a grown woman squeal. Like a kid in a candy store, you pick and choose whatever you like. Cherry red patent peep-toes with a modest heel? Done. Platform pumps in sunny yellow with blue soles? Granted.

An entire rainbow colors is at your disposal, including two shades of white and nude. The style, material, and heel height is determined by you. Everything down to box color is customizable, and you can claim your handiwork by adding initials to your soles. It will take approximately one month to receive your shoes, and prices start at $745.

Prada’s Made to Order service will be traveling to the Chicago Prada Boutique (30 E. Oak St., 312-951-1113) from June 2–8. Colors, materials, and style options will be on display in a full size run. Stop by during store hours, Monday through Saturday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Sunday (noon to 6 p.m.).
