For the fashion obsessed, a rummage sale isn't usually the ideal place to score designer labels —but The Great Parker Garage Sale is a very worthy exception. This weekend, Francis W. Parker School's two gymnasiums and cafeteria will be packed with clothing for women and men, children's apparel and toys, art, housewares, sporting goods, electronics, linens, and collectibles at deeply discounted prices.

It's all been donated by Lincoln Park parents, for a good cause: the annual sale raises money for the school's scholarship fund.

Parent volunteer Lisbeth Levine says she's spotted labels like Chanel, Prada, Burberry, Michael Kors and Tory Burch at this year's sale. As for pricing, the personal purchases Levine has made at past year's sales include a Jil Sander top for $8 and a silk jersey Susana Monaco dress for $16—now that's some good thrifting.

The cash-only sale can be found Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Francis W. Parker (2233 N. Clark St.) between Belden and Webster Avenues.
