Dish Flash: Boka Partners Tell Us Their Plans for the Old Tizi Melloul Space

Since Kevin Boehm and Rob Katz took over the Tizi space, everyone’s been wondering what the boys would do there. We had heard it would be a steak house, but now comes word that 531 North Wells Street will be a “chef-driven oyster bar.” Boehm and Katz, who have smartly anticipated trends with Boka, Landmark Grill, Perennial, and Girl & the Goat, noticed a hole in the market for midrange seafood. “You’ve got Half Shell, the divey spot, Shaw’s is more traditional, and L2O at the high end,” says Karrie Leung, spokeswoman for the Boka Restaurant Group. Giuseppe Tentori (Boka) will be the chef/partner, and 555 (Girl & the Goat) will design the yet-to-be-named restaurant. No official opening date, so we’ll all have to continue to hold our breath until sometime this winter.
