Monday, April 18

Finish those taxes and reward yourself with a discounted cocktail at GreenRiver (259 E. Erie St., Streeterville), where their drink menu will be marked down to $10.40 until 7 p.m. Not convinced? Earlier this year, we named GreenRiver the No. 2 Best New Bar in Chicago.

Wednesday, April 20

In honor of today’s, um, holiday, Trenchermen (2039 W. North Ave., Wicker Park) will put a twist on their standard Wednesday $10 burger and beer special in the bar. Their offering today is a monstrosity dubbed the Edible Burger, with grilled cheese buns, bacon, ranch dressing, and a walking taco on the side, along with Penrose Brewing’s Taproom IPA. Enjoy responsibly.

Giuliana Rancic will be on hand at the Mariano’s New City location (1500 N. Clybourn Ave., Lincoln Park) to chat with guests and give out signed bottles of her new line of wines called Xo, G. She’ll be around from 5 to 6 p.m. if you’re looking to schmooze.

Saturday, April 23

Enjoy some early-season outdoor drinking at a beerfest at Sheffield’s (3258 N. Sheffield Ave., Lake View). You’ll get to sample beers from more than 40 breweries (all brought in by Louis Glunz). Your $10 ticket gets you 10 tastings, and you can buy as many tickets as you want for additional sips.

Sunday, April 24

You can still get in on this year’s edition of Cochon 555, the head-to-head competition between five top-tier chefs (this year’s lineup includes Sarah Grueneberg of Monteverde and Phillip Foss of EL Ideas). They’re all given their own heritage-breed pig to turn into a five-course meal, and one will be crowned a winner. Pick up tickets here.
