Maple-bacon doughnuts are so yesterday. Get your carb-and-meat fix at Stan’s Donuts & Coffee (1560 N. Damen Ave., Wicker Park, 773-360-7386; 259 E. Erie St., Streeterville, 312-255-1130) through January 23 instead by picking up their pastry-based collaboration with West Loop meat masters Tête Charcuterie: a lardo-glazed Long John with spiced chicharrones. The treat costs $3.50, and 25 cents from each one purchased will be donated to Share Our Strength.

Sample sake at Roka Akor (456 N. Clark St., River North, 312-477-7652), where an eight-taste flight of the fermented rice wine will run $15, and all bottles of the featured varieties will be 25 percent off. Stop in at lunch on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday or at dinner on Wednesday or Thursday to snag the deal.

Tuesday, January 13

Get your beer a little fruity at Duck Inn (2701 S. Eleanor St., Bridgeport, 312-724-8811), which will release an apple ale collaboration with Begyle Brewing called “You Lika Da Juice” tonight with half-price pours. The brewers and chef Kevin Hickey will be around from 5 to 7 p.m. to talk about the team effort, too.

This week marks the start of a new tasting menu at the Promontory (5311 S. Lake Park Ave. West, Hyde Park, 312-801-2100) on winter Tuesday evenings—they’ve got a five-course chef’s table menu, which means you sit adjacent to the restaurant’s super-warm open hearth oven. The $75 meal includes wine pairings, and the first iteration will include roasted pork collar, grilled oyster, and more. Call the restaurant for reservations.

Wednesday, January 14

Si Fu Chinese Latin Kitchen (2116 W. Roscoe St., Roscoe Village, 773-880-9144) revamped their menu, and the fusion spot will have free tastings of some of the new dishes (such as an Asian tuna tartare with Sriracha mayo drizzle) from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight along with margaritas and sangría for $3.88.
