Monday, November 16

Get a head start on your holiday shopping and reward yourself for your foresight at Dove’s Luncheonette (1545 N. Damen Ave., Wicker Park, 773-645-4060). Now through January 1, if you make a purchase at neighborhood shops Apartment Number 9, Asrai Garden, Eskell, Moon Voyage, Penelope’s, or Una Mae’s, you’ll get a card to redeem at Dove’s for a free Cantarito cocktail with a purchase after 5 p.m.

Thursday, November 19

Beaujolais Nouveau season is upon us, and you can soak up as much of the young wine as you want alongside a themed dinner at Bistronomic (840 N. Wabash Ave., Gold Coast, 312-944-8400). The three-course dinner, available Thursday through Sunday nights, includes tons of French bistro cloassics (terrine, braised rabbit, île flottante) for $39.

Sunday, November 22

Stop by the seasonal Christkindlmarket and buy your boot mug, then bring it to Bohemian House (11 W. Illinois St., River North, 312-955-0439). On Sundays through Tuesdays during the market’s run, when you purchase a small plate at the restaurant, they’ll fill your boot with the beer of your choice.

Watch a food melee unfold at the third Seasonal Slam, hosted by Two (1132 W. Grand Ave., West Town, 312-624-8363). This edition pits Two chef Kevin Cuddihee and lead bartender Graham Crowe against Ed Sura and Kiel Schelich of Perennial Virant to see who can make a better meal utilizing cranberries, persimmons, and kohlrabi. Attendees vote on each course’s champ, and the team with the most votes at the end wins. Pick up all-inclusive tickets here.

Give thanks for a stellar selection of Logan Square chefs at a collaborative dinner at Sink | Swim (3213 W. Armitage Ave., 773-486-7465). Some of the proceeds from the meal prepped by Jason Hammel (Lula Café), Hunter Moore (Parson’s), Alfredo Nogueira (Analogue), and Patrick Cloud (Bang Bang Pie Shop) will benefit a food drive being put on by the neighborhood’s CAPS team. Reserve tickets to the $60 meal here.
