Men To Watch
October 29, 2009–Chicago magazine and David Yurman partnered to recognize five “Men to Watch”- Emmanuel Nony, Rick Gresh, Luza Lanzetta, Tom Kehoe, and Greg Hyder as leaders and innovators in the community. Over 100 guests gathered at the David Yurman Oak Street boutique to honor the men and their contributions to Chicago. David Yurman also debuted their new men’s watch collection, while guests mixed and mingled with delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres provided by Finesse Cuisine.
Museum Park at Central Station Welcomes International Resident Jenny Guo
October 26, 2009– Chicago magazine and Chicago Home + Garden co-hosted a reception with Museum Park at Central Station for celebrated Chinese artist and cultural emissary, Jenny Guo, to welcome her to her new home in Chicago’s South Loop. Jenny Guo was honored for her work in the diplomatic, business, and artistic arenas to bring China and the United States together.
SOS Children’s Villages Illinois Gala
October 2, 2009–The 13th Annual SOS Children’s Villages Illinois Gala, held at the Westin River North, brought a sense of joy to attendees who witnessed fantastical performances and special presentations by some of Chicago’s young aspiring artists. Co-chaired by Sarah Beardsley Tetzlaff and Paul Durbin, the gala’s theme, Kaleidoscope: Play in a New Way, rang true throughout the evening as a parade of talented street performers, musicians, singers, and actors created an atmosphere of wonder and amusement. Much like a kaleidoscope, SOS Children’s Villages Illinois consists of many colorful and unique components that together form the beautifully multi-faceted lives of the children living at SOS Children’s Villages Illinois in Lockport and in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood. The gala met its fundraising goal of more than $200,000, which will help support the families in care of SOS and provide much-needed education assistance.
Duxiana Chicago
October 7, 2009 — Duxiana Chicago teamed up with Pops for Champagne to celebrate the opening of the luxury bed manufacturer’s newest location at 619 N. State St. Guests toasted champagne and relaxed on DUX Beds throughout the event, which benefited the Illinois Chapter of the Pajama Program, a not-for-profit organization that provides pajamas and books to needy children. World Fashion Chicago
September 30, 2009 — Local fashionistas, designers, city officials, and business leaders gathered at the Harris Theater Rooftop Terrace on Wednesday, September 30th for the annual Chicago Sister Cities International’s World Fashion Chicago runway show. World Fashion Chicago is the city’s premier runway event featuring internationally inspired creations from fashion designers representing Chicago’s 28 sister cities.

September 23, 2009–Chicago magazine and Chalk boutique in Evanston hosted a fall fashion event for guests and clients to shop the trends with fabulous results. Fashion editor Stacy Wallace-Albert gave a presentation on how to wear the season’s top picks to perfection.
