Februrary 4, 2009 – The Tile Shop celebrated its internationally themed grand opening in Countryside on February 4th, hosted by The Tile Shop, Chicago Home + Garden, and Via Bella. Guests checked out the new showroom and sampled food and wine from various regions of the world as The Tile Shop offered a way to bring the international beauty home with their exotic and unique stone and tile.

Dare 2 Dream benefit concert featuring Kings of Leon

January 24, 2009– Grammy award nominated rock band Kings of Leon graced the stage at House of Blues in Chicago to perform a sold-out ‘Dare 2 Dream’ benefit concert. The event, presented by the Lisa Klitzky Foundation and hosted by Platform One Entertainment, was to raise funding for pediatric research and treatment at University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital. The event brought the band, their fans, and children undergoing treatment to overcome cancer together for a soul-shaking show.

GALApalooza 2008

July 31, 2008 – Parkways Foundation, the philanthropic partner of the Chicago Park District, held the second annual GALApalooza at the Petrillo Band Shell giving guests an exclusive sneak preview of the transformation of Grant Park into the Lollapalooza venue. Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, a Lollapalooza featured band, took the stage for an unforgettable performance. Emcee Marty Lennartz from WXRT and Perry Farrell, founder of Lollapalooza, were special guests at this year’s GALApalooza. Proceeds from this year’s event benefited the Buckingham Foundation Restoration Project.

Parkways Foundation Sixth Annual Garden Party

June 19, 2008 – Parkways Foundation, the philanthropic partner of the Chicago Park District, hosted the sixth annual Garden Party at Northerly Island. Over 650 attended the event which raised a record $300,000 for a new soccer field at McKinley Park. The theme of the afternoon was a tribute to the Century of Progress World’s Fair. Guests enjoyed a reception featuring young violinist from Sherwood Park in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, a performance by the GoGirlGo! dancers also from Sherwood Park and Chicago designer Maria Pinto added excitement to the reception with a fashion preview featuring 12 looks from her collection.
