‘Chicago Spaces’ Official Launch Party and Book Signing

October 4, 2011–Chicago’s design community met at the DreamHome in the Merchandise Mart to celebrate the official launch of Chicago Home + Garden’s new coffee table book, Chicago Spaces: Inspiring Interiors. Chicago Home + Garden staff members mingled with guests and signed copies of the book throughout the evening. Launch party sponsors included the DreamHome at the Merchandise Mart and Nick’s Fish Market.

Design Harvest Festival 2011

October 1 & 2, 2011–The 2nd edition of the Design Harvest Festival proved to be a mecca for design fashionistas, with droves of enthusiasts turning out to celebrate the consortium of local design vendors. Under picturesque autumn skies, furniture & accessory makers, vintage stores, antique dealers and local home design retailers popped-up shop with their latest creations as visitors perused the displays, finding new ways to beautify their homes.

Chicago Home + Garden was a media sponsor of the festival and returned with their Designer Meet Up Lounge offering complimentary consultations for attendees with Chicago’s best interior designers. Room & Board provided gorgeous pieces of furniture for the lounge and consultations. Beautiful terrariums were graciously donated by Sprout Home, in honor of their new how-to terrarium classes.

Coldwell Banker Networking Event

September 7, 2011–Chicago Home + Garden magazine welcomed Coldwell Banker agents for an evening of networking inspiration at the Dream Home in the Merchandise Mart. The Dream Home designers were on-site to interact with guests and answer design questions, steps and tips to creating luxurious rooms.

Fashion’s Night Out Event

September 8, 2011–Chicago magazine and The Shops at Northbridge partnered together to present Fashion’s Night Out. The stylish soiree included styling tips from Chicago magazine’s fashion director, Stacey Jones, and style editor, Heiji Choy Black as well as glamorous model showcases, exciting in-store celebrations, trend beauty bars, sweet treats, and so much more! Chicago magazine publisher, Rich Gamble, and Erica Strama, senior marketing manager at The Shops at Northbridge were present to help celebrate.

‘Dining Social’ Happy Hour for Social Media Week Chicago

September 19, 2011–Guests stopped by Sub 51 to mix and mingle with panelists from Chicago magazine’s ‘Dining Social’ discussion, where Curtis Duffy, Liz Mendez, Phillip Foss, Paula Haney, and Shelby Allison discussed how they use Facebook, Twitter, and blogs to enhance branding, customers relationships, and more. Ellen Malloy of Restaurant Intelligence Agency moderated the panel. Happy hour attendees continued their discussion on social media in Chicago’s restaurant and bar scenes amid cocktails and hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Lettuce Entertain You.

Sweet Dreams presented by Chicago magazine and Chicago Luxury Beds

August 24, 2011– Chicago Luxury Beds and Chicago magazine joined together to create the Sweet Dreams event, which awakened guests with delicious hors d’oeuvres from Boutique Bites, refreshing cocktails, and complimentary appointments to view the latest collections. During this delightful evening, Jan Parr, co-host of the reception and editor of Chicago Home & Garden magazine, gave a presentation on current bedroom design trends.

In-Fashion: The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival presented by MasterCard® Kick-Off Party

August 25, 2011 —The Greater North Michigan Avenue Association (GNMAA) and Chicago magazine kicked off In-Fashion: The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival presented by MasterCard®, the nation’s first shopping festival. GNMAA members gathered on the Terrace Rooftop l Bar l Restaurant at the Conrad Chicago to celebrate the occasion. Partygoers sipped “Passion for Fashions” while enjoying the fine hors d’oeuvres and In-Fashion model showcases. In-Fashion, a two-week shopping festival that ran from August 26 – September 8, celebrates the very best in fashion and beauty, culinary, technology, lifestyle and culture.

Stella Artois Summer Music Series at The Scout

August 17, 2011––Our final event of the Stella Artois Summer Music series was another success! Local Chicagoans joined together for a night of beer and music at The Scout, a new bar in the south loop. Guests enjoyed complimentary Stella Artois accompanied by an acoustic performance from Jeffrey David Goldford.

Party Pix: Best of Chicago

July 27, 2011–Chicago magazine hosted the “Best of Chicago” event at 445 N. Michigan Avenue venue to honor the August issue’s editorial honorees. The winners, their guests and some fellow “Best of” winners enjoyed complimentary cocktails by Tito’s Homemade Vodka and Victoria Beer along with delicious hors d’oeuvres. The guests were also able to splurge at the candy station, cool down at the Italian ice station and snap their best shot at the traveling photo booth. Features editor, Jennifer Tanaka, congratulated all the winners in attendance. The winners also received a commemorative “Best of Chicago 2011” personalized plaque from publisher and general manager, Rich Gamble.
