H2O House’s Scalp Massage

The best part of a haircut is the shampoo, right? Now imagine a one-hour luxe version of that. At H2O House, a new spa offering head and foot care, you can have that magical experience — if you can get in, that is. There was a 10-week wait this spring, and with good reason: There’s nothing else like it in town. Each visit begins with a scalp consultation, where a microscopic view of your head’s skin is mercilessly projected onto a tablet. This informs treatment and provides a “before” for the “after” you’ll see too. Then comes the main event: the massage, which will set you back $88 to $98. (Rooms are shared with another client, so if the thought of having your head rubbed next to a total stranger gives you the icks, book with a friend.) You have options: The camellia treatment stimulates blood flow to deliver nutrients to your follicles, the ginger one promotes hair growth, while the hydration one removes dead skin. In this era of self-care, it’s a wonder it took so long to get around to pampering our domes, but we are sure glad it did. 2360 N. Clybourn Ave., Lincoln Park
