Even though it’s been around since the fall of 2023, we’re still feeling that new-crush love for this sophisticated fast-casual neighborhood café. At lunch it’s a hard choice between the smoky pulled pork sandwich with assorted herbs and Thai chile vinaigrette and the crispy fried branzino sandwich. For happy hour, there’s no question: The “Chicago Happy Meal” features a dirty martini so icy it turns cloudy and a plate of the best, crispiest french fries you will ever encounter. At night we’re all about the fun, phenomenal wine list (so many cool bottles open) and the ridiculously good pastas, seasonal salads, and funky small plates. Think cold lobster with melted leek aïoli, and a zingy hamachi crudo with golden housemade chips. These chefs here are potato whisperers.
